Sinful Colors Cinderella + It's a boy mani!

Hello everyone! First of all, I want to say thank you very much to everyone who has taken the time to follow my new blog and enter the giveaway, but most of all thank you to those of you who have been so kind and extremely welcoming. The kind words have given me plenty of encouragement.

Holy moly, the last week has been horrendous for me. A very drastic emotional rollercoaster. Here's to hoping the next week isnt so bad.

In the midst of the very bad week I had, I did get some good news that someone very close to me is expecting a new baby boy! This is BIG news, the first baby boy in this big very estrogen dominated family. haha so everyone is beyond exciting and I decided to celebrate in my own way, with an "It's a boy!" mani! What better way to do that than with beautiful blues?!

I used Sinful Colors Cinderella. This color has been hugely popular in the nail polish world lately, for good reason. Its a beautiful baby blue with subtle flashes of pink shimmer. Its not your typical light blue at all, its gorgeous and definitely unique. The flashes of pink shimmer set it apart from the rest, plue its perfect for spring! And the name fits it perfectly!

On my ring finger I thought it would be cute to add a little foot print in a darker blue. I used a Color Club blue for that, it doesn't have a name on the bottle but it is gorgeous and will definitely have an upcoming mani featuring it.

Enough blabbering, here are the pictures!

In natural light with no flash.

Again in natural light with no flash. I couldn't
quite capture the flashes of pink shimmer
but in this one you can definitely see it has
some kind of shimmery goodness!

This is an indoor picture with a flash, not a
very good representation of Cinderelle but it
shows the foot print better so I included it.

All in all, the application way great, although I did use 3 coats. It was oppaque for me in 2 but the third just finished it off perfectly. I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite top coat. I can't wait until these nasty ridges grow out! Any tips?

What has been your staple polish for Spring?

I hope you all have a great weekend and week to come.

Nail Polish Magnets!

I started picking up supplies here and there a few weeks ago to give making magnets a try. I figured they'd make cute personalized gifts.

Here are the ones I made tonight!

The possibilities are really endless. I can't wait to play around with some ideas I have and make some more!

Have you ever made them? What colors or certain polishes would you like to see as a magnet?

Sinful Colors Mint Apple with accents of Nirvana

About a month ago I got back from a nearly two month long vacation, I went to Mexico, New Orleans and Illinois. Before I left for Mexico I want to make sure my nails would last so I got an acrylic overlay. It had been years since I had anything other than natural nails. It was nice for a little change.

Anyway, the past week has been a week from hell with many emotional ups and downs. I'm one of those people that likes to change things up when that happens. I either get a new hair style, a new color, a new outfit... basically anything to try to bring myself out of it... well this time I decided to remove the acrylic and chop all my nails off. (WHAT WAS I THINKING?!) I haven't felt like doing my nails all week but randomly got all my stuff ready and started soaking them off.

Lucky for me, my nails grow really fast and are naturally really healthy and strong. So hopefully I wont have these horrible nubbins for long. Anyway, after I got all cleaned up, I decided to try one of my new buys, Sinful Colors Mint Apple. For the longest time, I wasn't a fan of wear any time of green on my nails but recently I've branched out a bit and started adding some to my collection.

This is 2 coats of Mint Apple with an accent nail of Nirvana polka dots. (no flash)

2 coats of Mint Apple with an accent of Nirvana polka dots. (with flash.)

The name of this polish is perfect, its a minty apple green with very subtle silver shimmer. Its beautiful and perfect for spring. When I first saw it I thought of mint chocolate chip ice cream or cookies, that is why I added the brown Nirvana dots. The application was great, although I think I got a faulty brush because it was a bit shaggy. (weird) Only two coats were needed, which was nice since Sinful Colors are known for being sheer. But you can't beat the $1.99 price tag! I used Seche Vite as my top coat.

*Almost positive this is in the core line but its on one of the new displays.

So tell me, how do you feel about Sinful Colors? Have you grabbed any of the new ones?

And don't forget, I'm planning a give away for when I reach 25 followers! (I know, I know a big whopping 25 lol)

New Hot Pink/Turquoise/Blue/Purple Hair!

I love to experiment and try new things with my hair. The color and style is always changing so I thought I'd share my newest hair creation. haha

I originally hoped to go for hot pink and turquoise but the two colors mixed in spots and made a pretty blue/purple color.

Here is the hot pink. This picture is pretty true to color. Its very neon.
(I didn't do the forehead clean up yet, forgive me. haha)

Here is the other side, more pink, turquoise, blue and purple.

A full shot. (ignore the goofy fake smile haha)

And here's another semi-styled one.
(featuring another of my crafty projects, tie-dye shirt!)

If you could have any color hair, which color(s) would you choose?

Green for St. Patrick's Day!

While on vacation recently, I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Sinful Colors Green Ocean. I couldn't wait to try it out. I also picked up a Sinful Colors Irish Green and figured they'd both make a great St. Patrick's Day mani!

Natural lighting/no flash
The formula on this is sort of thin like some neons are. I definitely needed 3 coats.

To spice it up a bit I added Sinful Colors Green Ocean as an accent nail.

This is definitely a beautiful and unique polish. Green and Blue irregular shards of flakie goodness in a sheer green jelly base. The formula on mine is VERY thick, but a little thinner should probably help that. I didn't think the application was as bad as I've seen others say. Even with the thick, gooey formula, its definitely worth $1.99! I'm going to try layering it over different colors.

Here's a close up.

Haul

Over the last month or so I've picked up a few new polishes that I was pretty excited to snag.

For some reason the flash gave Kim-pletely in Love a weird yellow/orange glow. Anyway, I was pretty excited to get Green Ocean and I'm personally not big on the magnetic trend but figured I'd at least try it before I write it off. So we'll see how that goes. I'll update when I try them out. Any feedback on this brand? Am I wasting my time?

Let's try this again...

For whatever reason when I first created this blog I never kept up with it. (more than the first post lol) But I think I am now at a better place in my life where I'd like to give this another shot.

This is going to be a big mixture of things, for lack of a better word. I love trying new products, styles, crafts and recipes so what better way to share with everyone! Hope you all enjoy!
