Cinco de Mayo - Party on My Nails!

I probably should have posted this yesterday since today is now May 6th but oh well! We had a get together at a friends house to watch the Cotto/Mayweather fight and had tacos and margaritas. How very festive of us. haha

Anyway, I basically wanted a party on my nails so this is what I came up with... I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors Bikini which is one of their new polishes. Its a bright, vibrant pink with slight pink shimmer. The shimmer makes it glow, its beautiful and perfect for summer. The application was extremely smooth and almost opaque in 1 coat, the second coat just made it pop more. Dry time was pretty quick.

I then topped it with Wet N Wild FastDry Party of Five Glitters which is a clear base packed with all sorts of different sizes, shapes and colors. It has silver, red, green, purple, and blue pieces of glitter. When I first tried to apply it, I swiped it on like a normal polish and quickly realized that hardly any glitter stays on the nail that way. I found that its much easier to just dab it on. I was also a bit surprised at how many 'coats' I actually had to use to get it to look like this.. The bottle looks so jam packed, so it was a little disappointing that it took so much fooling around with. BUT! lol if you can deal with all the extra little steps, its a pretty cool looking polish! Plus, I've heard it not EXACTLY a Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday dupe but its very comparable to it. You can't beat a cheap drugstore DL (almost) dupe!

After all that, I added a thick coat of Seche Vite. Last night at the party, my friend was like "Wow, your nails are still so smooth with all that glitter!" She was amazed lol

One last little thing that I wanted to point out, recently when Sinful Colors was on sale, I stocked up on a bunch of new ones. I know there is always talk about how the colors in new collections aren't always new, some are core colors. Sometimes people aren't sure which are new and which aren't so here is a little tip, all the new colors have a code on the bottom of the bottle that is a 4 digit code in the 1000's. Anything that is lower, has been released before at some point.
